I have been working my arse off (believe it or not!).
This week has been super busy.
I had three assignments:
On Tuesday night, a musical about Vietnamese refugees. It was horrible, horrible, horrible. I still can't believe how bad it was.
On Thursday morning, I checked out Caterpillar, a cafe for children. There's also a studio where they hold workshops for children and babies. The food (I tasted some chicken nuggets and three different types of cookies) is delicious. I am going to take I-Shan there soon because the music and movement class for babies looked fun.
This morning (Friday) I went to interview the producer and director of a new Malaysian movie called Remp-It. It's about illegal motorbike racing and is, apparently, quite racy. The Malay papers and The Malay Mail are all abuzz about the sexy scenes, but the producer insists he's kept to the guidelines. I should probably go watch it myself.
While I was at his office, the producer, David Teo, blew up when he discovered that The Malay Mail article had quoted him saying that he hoped the censorship board would "close one eye" and pass the film. According to Teo, he hadn't even been interviewed. He started snorting and stamping and threatening to sue.
It was all rather interesting.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm on leave Monday and Tuesday as it's Elesh's birthday on the 15th. Hopefully, I will get to fit in some naps and coffee breaks.
