I mean to do a lot of reading during my maternity leave and am getting
suggestions from friends, family and colleagues as to what the little book
tower I plan to build on my bedside table should comprise.
The tower so far:
Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand
Lent to me by a colleague. She thought she was going to get it back next week,
but I've just told her that I'm saving it!
One Perfect Rose by Mary Jo Putney
How to Lose Friends and Alienate People by Toby Young
Liz Tai is going to lend these to me. She doesn't usually read romance novels
but says One Perfect Rose makes her swoon.
Wee Free Men and A Hatful of Sky by Terry Pratchett.
I hope Eyeris will lend these to me. Will you, please, Eyeris??
The Master by Colm Toibin
I've been looking in vain for this book. Anyone seen it in any bookstore in the
Klang Valley?
Can also lend you Master and Margarita (Bulgakov) and Veronika Decides To Die (Paulo Coelho) and that Curious Incident of the Dog who died in the nighttime (you must have read that already)

Sophie's World is delightful enough in its translated form to tempt me into learning Norwegian. ;)
All my books are in KK so got nothing to lend. :(
Unless you want Hemingway's A Moveable Feast?

Maya: I like Sophie's World too. I take it The Alchemist is a happy, easy-read? Hmm ... I never would have guessed. LOL!

Hi Daphne,
My number one fave book (besides The Little Prince) is Sophie's World by Jostein Gaardner. Paul Coelho's The Alchemist is a good read too.

Finally tracked down Colm Toibin's The Master at Times, Bangsar Shopping Centre, in hardback and costing a crazy RM113.99!! No way was I going to spend that sort of money so I put it back on the shelf. The search continues ...
