Elizabeth: Oh, gosh, you're a girl after my own heart, declaring yorself an anti-Harry-Potter-Series person :-)
And yes, I agree abt Le Guin. She's my husband's fave fantasy writer. I forgot to add her and will do so in a minute.
As for HDM reviews, you're right, haven't done one and it wld be hard to justify writing a review now, so many years after the books were first published. I will def be reviewing "The Book of Dust" tho!!
Here's wishing you a warm springand better running weather!

Hey, I just read your article on the StarMag. Well, I thought Pullman's His Dark Materials were really good (especially after reading Paradise Lost!), and I haven't seen you do a review on it yet on StarMag (or perhaps I missed it) so could you do one on him? I would love to read it! Also, LeGuin's Earthsea series do not garner much attention, despite it being a much better fantasy series then Harry Potter, and I thought that people should know about this really good series, as opposed to reading Harry Potter all the time.
(Also, I gave up running in sub-zero temperatures, with regards to your last comment. LOL!)
Yours truly,
The-Anti-Harry-Potter-Series-Fan
