HONDO and Fabian are chums, a dog and cat who first appeared in "Hondo
and Fabian". In that book, Hondo frolics on the beach while Fabian
stays home and plays with the baby. Now it's Fabian's turn for an
adventure: he slips out when Hondo returns from a walk, eats flowers,
has "words" with three strange dogs and leaps over a fence. At home,
it's Hondo's turn to play with the baby. Peter McCarty's gently rotund
and kindly-featured characters are two of the most adorable in the
world of picture books.
