A poem and beautiful pictures show the universality of mother's love, and how the wise counsel we receive from our mamas is a common thread that link us all, whatever our race or religion. While one might wonder at why this book is specifically for mothers and sons (when the advice would be helpful for anyone whatever their gender), it could be seen as a celebration of such qualities that are not usually associated with boys - a deliberate attempt to appeal to the gentler, more contemplative side of the male psyche.
