I'll never look at paintings by any of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in the same way again!
Desperate Romantics (reviewed in The Times) is a book, by Franny Moyle, about the artists Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown, William Holman Hunt, John Everett Millais, William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones, and John Ruskin; and the women (mostly models, like Jane Morris and Lizzie Siddall, who appeared in their work) in their lives. Basically, there was a whole lot of sharing and swapping going on, but considering the number of suicides and suicide-attempts, the women weren't particularly thrilled by the arrangements (surprise, surprise!).
